Students at MLC Nottingham showcase their Silver Arts Award portfolios to family and friends.
I have been a fan of Arts Award for many years. Student cohorts at MLC Nottingham have successfully completed both bronze and silver awards. I am always surprised and encouraged when I read through the portfolios. The amount of work undertaken together with the passion that young people have for their chosen art is very encouraging.
What is Arts Award?
Arts Award is a range of unique qualifications. It supports anyone aged up to 25 to grow as artists and arts leaders. The pathway inspires people to connect with and take part in the wider arts world.
Silver Arts Award
Silver Arts Award is a Level 2 qualification on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and is designed for ages 14 and above. It is however open to young people aged 11 to 25. In order to achieve a Silver Arts Award, young people collect evidence in an individual arts portfolio of their experiences of:
Arts practice and pathways

- implementing and reviewing their arts challenge
- reviewing arts events and sharing their views
- researching future opportunities and careers in the arts
